Membership FAQs

Can I try GymIt for free to see if I like it?

Absolutely, if it’s your first time to GymIt you can try a workout for free! All you need to bring is a valid Photo ID.  If you are between the ages of 16 and 18 years old, you will need a parent or guardian to sign off on your free trial at the club.

Can I cancel my membership at any time?

Yes!  None of our memberships have long term agreements, you can cancel your membership whenever you like.  All we ask is that you give us one month of notice.  For example, if you cancel in July your last dues invoice will be billed on August 1st, and your access will end on August 31st.

How old do I need to be to workout at GymIt?

You must be at least 16 years old to workout at GymIt.  If you are over 16 years old, but under 18, you must have a parent or guardian accompany you on your first visit to the club to sign off on a physical liability waiver.

How do I have to go about canceling my membership?

All you have to do is stop into one of our locations to complete a cancel request with one of our staff members.  If you are unable to stop by a club location, you may also cancel by sending a certified letter to our corporate office stating your intent to cancel your membership.  The certified letter should be sent to 137 Newbury Street 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02116.

Can I freeze my month to month membership?

Yes, GymIt allows one freeze per calendar year up to a maximum of 3 months in length. Freezes can be placed for full calendar months only. A $5 holding fee is applied in place of the normal monthly dues amount for most membership freezes.  With proper documentation, a complimentary freeze will be offered to any member freezing for medical or military reasons.

What is a maintenance/annual fee, and when will it be charged?

Once per the calendar year all members are subject to a yearly fee of $39. The maintenance fee helps us ensure that we are constantly improving our equipment and facilities, as well as keeping your experience consistent. The first annual fee occurs on the member’s third bill cycle with us and will bill that same month every year after that.  For instance, if you enroll in February, your first bill cycle would be on March 1st, making your third bill cycle May 1st.  In this example, your annual fee would happen every May that you are with us.

Please note: If your annual maintenance fee is scheduled to be billed during the final month your membership is active, it will also be included in your last payment.
